Michael on his way to a new personal best

Gerben, isostar!

Enrico strikes back

Madeleine gives no presents

With one hand

The team has conquered Madeleine

But Kai still wonders where she is.

Kai, water!

Bas on the Madeleine

Ascent of the Iseran

The Iseran is a long, long climb. The steepest parts are at the beginning, and the final 2.5km. Especially that last bit is an absolute killer. You are already at 2500m altitude, and have been on your bike for many hours. And to face a 8-10% gradient can really break you. But we all made it!!

Taken with my bike-cam, sorry about the shakyness, the roads here just aren't perfect.. ;-)

As the winner of the first ever Nedstat Classic Bolletjestrui, Michael arranged some attractive ladies to do the handover.

Ready to go, day 1

First col: done

the forecast was right.

not a great start

The first day starts with an incredible downpoor and intense thunderstorm. According to the rainradar, this will pass but it looks intimidating right now...

Garmin - Tomtom 1 - 0

While Wiard tries to reboot his windows-mobile Tomtom, my antique Garmin Quest takes over navigation.

Kai is overtaking supercars

Quote: Was there a 90 sign? Oh I missed that. But no worries, I have seen no speedcams.

The team at 2770 meters

The final part of the Iseran is the toughest

It is lonely near the top

Profiles of this year

Below are the profiles of the three main climbs that we will do this year. They are on the same scale and start at the same altitude, to make them easily comparable.

You will notice that the first day is the easiest, with the Cormet de Roselend. It is not very steep, nor very high, and you get a rest break at about two thirds as we pass the lake. The second day is tougher in the sense that the Iseran is a very very long climb, though never very steep. The Madeleine on the third day will be toughest. It is quite long and steep, and you get no breaks.
